What classes does your child need to take in middle school and high school? What is the level of rigor they should take on? Riddle me this...what class in high school had the most impact on you? How did it influence where you are at in your life right now?

It’s that time of year to help your teen or tween pick their classes for the upcoming year. Be on the lookout for those forms that your child’s school counselor sends home to choose next year’s classes! Is your child transitioning into middle school or high school for the first time? You will definitely want to listen to this episode!

When you’re helping your child select their schedule, don’t think about what’s going to guarantee your child a spot in a specific college or career. Think about what is going to help them excel in life.

Ever have a class you wish wasn’t a requirement? What was it? This week on School Counselor Gone Rogue we are giving you the key things to consider when helping you select your child’s classes for the year! Marni Pasch - Academic Coach Team - Pasch …

In this week’s episode of School Counselor Gone Rogue, you will learn how to get all the research before you jump into selecting your child’s middle school and high school courses. Picking classes is actually important to not only your child’s future but their emotional well being! Look at what your child is passionate about. What do they want to do? Don’t always solely focus on what will look good.

We look at things to consider as you choose your child’s classes, but if you have specific questions about your child’s progression at school, you should schedule an appointment to talk to your teenager’s school counselor.

Also remember, test scores do not make the human. Place your students in the appropriate classes based on their ability and their interest. Listen to this episode to make sure you can select your child’s classes with confidence!

Marni Pasch| Host of School Counselor Gone Rogue| Academic Coach | Team Pasch Academic Coaching

I work with students in grades 6th and higher, who struggle with academic confidence and motivation. I help them survive school with less stress by helping them create concrete goals, tackle procrastination and learn creative study techniques. I empower students to take charge of their education and reach their goals. I do this through individual or group coaching so students achieve success in life, school, career readiness and their social endeavors. I provided in person academic coaching in Orlando, FL, but work with students across the country through Zoom!
