Are your Child’s Strengths Sabotaging School - Episode 076

Is your child a social butterfly or curious kid? Do they know how to differentiate between when to play full out and when to control their abilities?

While being awesome is a good thing, knowing when to use social skills, humor or curiosity is even more important. I remember my mother telling me to mind the, “Time and place” to make sure my excitable personality bubbled over in the appropriate places.

Social awareness is an important skill to cultivate to be mindful of when to turn the volume down.

Now, this isn’t to discourage them from being themselves. Instead, the goal is to empower them to maximize their strengths to fit the school setting and work setting when they become adults.

Walking into a parent-teacher conference is 90% mindset. How do you check yours when you walk through that door? Marni Pasch - Academic Coach Team - Pasch Academic CoachPodcast School Counselor Gone Rogue www.teampasch.com

In this podcast on School Counselor Gone Rogue, I provide two examples. Lean how Cornell notes helped me to leverage AND reign in my curiosity. Second, helping students who are social butterflies reflect on how their strengths can be a positive but  also be a struggle in the school setting.

Marni Pasch| Host of School Counselor Gone Rogue| Academic Coach | Team Pasch Academic Coaching

I work with students in grades 6th and higher, who struggle with academic confidence and motivation. I help them survive school with less stress by helping them create concrete goals, tackle procrastination and learn creative study techniques. I empower students to take charge of their education and reach their goals. I do this through individual or group coaching so students achieve success in life, school, career readiness and their social endeavors. I provided in person academic coaching in Orlando, FL, but work with students across the country through Zoom!
