Helping Students overcome Essay Writing Struggles Using Trello - Episode 080
How to Fix Your Child’s Essay Writing Problems
Does essay writing cause your child problems at school?
Many of my academic coaching students struggle with writing essays. Two major reasons are processing disorders and dissecting difficult prompts.
In this podcast, we consider vital steps to resolve essay writing problems. These include:
Digging deeper to understand your child’s struggle with essays
Breaking down prompts using Trello
Maximizing my essay writing board for students
From experience, I know that essay writing fears are real. Having struggled with writing thesis statements, I know that this can be a scary process for struggling students.
In the steps we discuss in this episode of School Counselor Gone Rogue, we provide lasting solutions to writing essays. With Trello, I helped one of my students write over 20 pages for a project in less than 2 weeks.
Your kid may not fall in love with essay writing. But they’ll definitely learn new ways to understand prompts and write their essays without getting scared or feeling stupid.
Join the Parent Lab to take the mini-course that addresses this topic in clearer details. Don’t forget to engage with other parents too. You are never alone.

I work with students in grades 6th and higher, who struggle with academic confidence and motivation. I help them survive school with less stress by helping them create concrete goals, tackle procrastination and learn creative study techniques. I empower students to take charge of their education and reach their goals. I do this through individual or group coaching so students achieve success in life, school, career readiness and their social endeavors. I provided in person academic coaching in Orlando, FL, but work with students across the country through Zoom!
